randomness of life

Random excerpts from life lately:

  • So I am at the point in pregnancy where we can find out whether this little one in my belly is a boy or girl, but we still have to wait a couple of weeks and it is KILLING ME.  So I have been playing with the silly old wives tales like I did with Addy, despite the fact that most of them were wrong last go round. And oddly enough, things are leaning towards girl this time... all expect the heart rate predictor, which happened to be the only correct one with Addy. I have no idea what to think.
  • My favorite world travel buddies:
  • I am experiencing my first real spring, and it is wondrous. Even if I am fairly allergic to some of it (and I am struggling to find relief because treatment options are limited while pregnant, and those available aren't helping much), I find such joy in the longer days, sun & rain, cherries to pick, and beautiful flowers everywhere.
  • Addy's first pet-like thing: Randall Handle, a snail. We're not sure why, but even though Addy knows both the English and French words for snail (escargot!) she prefers to call them "handles." She found this little guy, which isn't super hard when they're everywhere, and she really likes him. Luckily, he's pretty low maintenance.
  • I have finished 3 knitting projects in the past month. Maybe I started one of them before Addy was born, but whatever. THREE are finished, 2 having lasted less than a week: scarves for Collin and Addy (just in time for summer! haha...) and a baby hat. I work better with sewing, but sometimes you make do with knitting when the crafty bug hits and you have no sewing supplies in your current location.
  • And finally, this shirt pretty much sums up the struggles of my life right now:

  2. That shirt is perfect! And Addy looks so different! And three projects is an accomplishment.. Regardless of the time frame!
