definition: the hobby or practice of exploring caves.
Today we drove to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. If you haven't ever been to one of America's National Parks, put it on your life to-do list. If you have been to one, I'm sure seeing as many of the parks as possible is something you desire. Seriously, you are wasting your time and money flying to resorts to see something pretty. National parks are inexpensive and incredible.
Enough of that now, here are the pictures:
natural cave entrance
long, windy road into the cave
You can't see well, but this reminded me of Whoville from Dr. Seuss... so I put my ponytail on top of my head for Who-hair.
Collin's trying to make the same face as this stalagmite. The right side is the rock face's profile.
Ever enjoyed lunch in a cave? We did, 754 ft. underground.
enjoying the view
lion's tails hanging from the ceiling
a HUGE column and twin stalagmites- the big one looked about 3 stories tall.
details- a close up of that giant column... I'm very proud of this picture. It's hard to get good pictures 750 ft. underground where there's no natural light.
