38 weeks...

Pregnancy update: I'm hungry all of the time. No exaggeration. I wake up in the middle of the night with a rumbly tummy, and I can't go back to sleep until it's satiated. I try to fall back asleep when I wake up hungry. My desires for sleep and warmth trump being hungry for awhile, but eventually hunger wins. I sometimes stay awake for 2-3 hours (yea, I'm that stubborn) trying to just fall back asleep. I usually give in and get up when I have to pee for the millionth time. Finally, I eat something I probably shouldn't (healthy snacks apparently don't happen at 3 am), start reading a book, and then pass out in about 10 minutes. Maybe I need to start putting a stash of granola bars on my night stand.

I know it's a blurry shot in a streaky mirror, but it's all I could manage today. At least you can see the belly.

The other interesting thing right now is the baby's ability to dead leg me. I will be walking around a store minding my own business when she decides to squirm. BAM: dead leg. People get a little unnerved when the pregnant lady can't walk straight. I don't really know how this happens though. It's like the baby hits some nerve when she squirms just the right way, but I'm not sure how or where. It happens when I'm sitting also, but that's not nearly as disconcerting for the people around me.

All in all, everything is still good. Baby and I are both healthy, and I really don't mind being pregnant most of the time. No real complaints- just quirks that come with the last few weeks I suppose. Here's praying for patience and continued good health over the next few weeks!
