and the winner is...

After all those old wives' tale tests, family feelings, prophets, etc. telling you it's a boy... well, you can guess. This little ball of sass inside of me is a baby girl! If you had only placed your bets on a girl, then you would be rolling in cash... or something. The only wives' tale test that was right was the heartbeat (which remains true, actually >140bpm is supposedly a girl).

Now for the long awaited belly shot:

I have seriously had the most laid back, easy pregnancy ever. No complications, no intolerable symptoms, no illnesses, etc. I'm a textbook case. As wonderful and awesome as this is, it means this is likely our one and only ultrasound. It hurts my heart a little- I loved see our baby girl wiggle around! I am beyond thankful to God for giving me such a smooth pregnancy thus far (21 weeks in- woo!)... I'm just really jealous of women I know who get to see/hear their babies more often than me!

Following the initial shock/excitement of finding out she's a she, we realized that we had kind of laid girl names to rest for a little while. She doesn't have a name yet, which is fine as she's not here yet. I think we're pretty close to a decision, but to be honest I'm not sure we're telling you until we see her. I tend to change my mind a lot, and you ought not set your heart set on something before it's "written in stone" (or on the birth certificate, as the case may be). We'll see how it goes!
