In an attempt to satisfy our longing to know whether the child inside of Cassie is a boy or a girl, we reverted to testing out a series of old wives tales that should “definitively” indicate the sex of the baby. If anyone has any wagers on the sex, we have consulted a local bookie to take bets. Feel free to post your prediction and your wager in the comments section below. We should find out Tuesday if the baby cooperates so we can give an answer to you at that point. I think the odds are pretty much even at this point, but after you hear the results of our research below, you might want to change your bet. We took the series of old wives tales from this website in case you want to do your own test in the future. This is incredibly scientific research and we take it very seriously. So with no further ado, here it goes:

1. Are you carrying the baby high or low? High = Girl; Low = Boy. Answer: Boy

2. Heart rate: 140+ beats per minute = girl; less than 140 beats per minute = boy. Answer: Girl

3. Craving sweet or sour: Sweet = girl; Sour and salty = boy. Answer: Boy

4. Chinese birth chart: Answer: Boy

5. Drano test: We didn’t do this one. Too much work and we don’t have any Drano. Answer: undetermined

6. Mayan method: Mother’s age and birth year are both even or odd = girl; If one odd and one even = boy. Answer: Boy

7. Key test: Cassie read this one, so we weren’t able to test it out. Answer: undetermined.

8. Complexion: Lots of zits = girl; minimal zits = boy. Answer: Boy.

9. Ring on a string: if ring goes back and forth = girl; if it goes in circles = boy. Answer: Boy.

10. Morning sickness: Lots of it = girl; not much = boy. Answer: Boy.

As you can see it was incredibly scientific and the result was pretty overwhelming. The score was:
