like a weed

That's how Addy grows: like a weed.  If you've ever seen our yard, you probably know why this imagery is so quick to come to my mind.  When we moved into this house, there was a weed-tree thing that was taller than the house.  No lie, but I digress.

Addy seems to be in a growth spurt, and everything is suddenly changing.  She magically started taking longer naps this week.  She can keep herself entertained for 30 minutes just playing on a blanket with 1 or 2 toys, or just rolling all over the place.  She tries to eat her feet and seems to be growing lots.  That girl is even starting to show increasing interest in food. For instance, she repeatedly pulled my water cup to her mouth during dinner the other day (she tried for other things, but I succeeded in keeping them out of reach most of the time).  Feeling the need to foster her curiosity, I helped her get a small swig.  Though startled, she kept trying.  Geez, I love that kid.

I had conflicting feelings about posting this video in an entry about my daughter, but the song keeps coming to my head when I think about how much she is changing. Oh, those magic changes. Thanks, 9th grade show choir.

I'll leave you with a daddy/daughter picture from today. We went to the Llano Estacado Clay and Wine Festival, enjoyed some nice artistry, a bit of wine, some West Texas music, and a bite of BBQ.
